For those new to nail polish, there are a couple of important differences between Mylee’s gel nail polish and regular coloured nail polish. For example, all of Mylee’s gel colours need to be cured under a UV or LED lamp. Secondly, gel polish can last much longer than regular polish - up to 3-weeks of chip-free mani!

Colour Nail Polish vs Glitter Nail Polish

The only choice you need to make when it comes to choosing colour gel nail polish vs glitter polish is do you want your nails to be subtle or sparkle? Colours and glitters are made using the same formula although some of our Mylee colours also contain glitter.

How Do You Use Colour Nail Polish?

Start by doing your usual nail prep routine before painting your nails with one of our colour gel nail polishes. All of our nail polishes are really easy to use and can be cured under UV or LED nail lamps. Curing time: 120 seconds under UV lamp, 30-60 seconds under LED lamp (depending on application and thickness of the layer).

What's the Best Way to Remove Colour Nail Polish?

We’ve got a whole blog post that covers this topic which is a great place to go for a full breakdown of the best way to remove your nail polish. However, the removal process can be broken down into 6 simple steps.

1. Buff the surface of the nails with a nail file to remove the shine of the top coat.
2. Soak a cotton pad, cotton ball, or Lint Free Wipe with Mylee Gel Remover, or 100% Pure Acetone and place over the gel colour, securing with a foil wrap
3. Leave for 10 to 15 minutes to soak then firmly pull off the nails.
4. Gently push loose gel polish using a gel scraper or cuticle pusher.
5. If there is product remaining on the nail, re-buff and re-wrap the nail.
6. Once all the product is removed, wash your hands thoroughly.

You can always buy a gel polish removal kit as they usually come with a buffing tool and some other tools to help loosen and remove the gel polish.
