WAXING DEPILATION AT HOME – FIRST STEPS
Of course, the decision to remove hair is a private matter for each of us. However, for those of us who choose to remove hair, shaving every day can be frustrating, as is the discomfort and pain, cost, and embarrassment associated with other hair removal methods: epilatory, depilatory creams, laser hair removal, and electrolysis.
The solution, also for complete novices, may be professional waxing at home. It saves a lot of time, nerves and money!
Waxing at home can give you just as good results as waxing in a salon, as long as you use the right equipment and do it correctly.

MYLEE KITS FOR HOME WAXING
Mylee offers a wide selection of at-home waxing kits. Our products will meet the needs of even the most demanding smoothness lovers.
1) Mylee hard waxing kit
The hard wax depilation set is available in two scents: coconut and arnica and charcoal and green tea. With these sets, you can easily and conveniently perform stripless hair removal, regardless of where you are and what your level of waxing experience is.
Hard wax is extremely flexible, so it is perfect for depilating armpits or the bikini area. The set includes all the products and equipment you need to perform professional, satisfying waxing. The waxes in these sets are suitable for full body depilation.
The set also includes a professional heater compatible with all types of wax: hard, soft, drops and cream.
The set includes Mylee Pre-Care Gel pre-depilation gel, thanks to which you will thoroughly cleanse your skin before the treatment of all types of impurities, cosmetics and make-up, ensuring flawless results.
Mylee Aftercare Lotion, used after depilation, will soothe and deeply moisturize the skin.
2) Mylee kit with soft/cream wax
The Mylee set with soft/creamy depilatory wax allows you to perform strip depilation, i.e. using paper strips that you stick on the skin with wax. The sets come in three delightful variants: Soft Honey, Rose Crème and Tea Tree.
Hard wax for stripless hair removal is generally a better option for smaller and more delicate areas of the body, such as the face or bikini area. Soft strip wax works better for larger areas such as legs and arms.
HOW TO USE A WAXING KIT AT HOME
It is important to familiarize yourself with the waxing technique before starting the treatment. If done correctly, you will achieve flawless results, and that's the goal, right? However, remember not to get discouraged after your first attempts, because practice makes perfect - the more times you try, the better the results you will get,
The waxing technique differs depending on the set you have chosen for yourself. Read the instructions for the kit you have at home. However, there are steps that are always worth following.
Place the wax pack in the warmer and let it heat up. Always test the temperature of the wax on the inside of your wrist - it should be warm but not burn the skin.
Prepare your skin by massaging Mylee Pre Care Gel into the area of the body you want to depilate. This way you will cleanse and degrease the skin, making the depilation effective. Wait until the gel dries before applying the wax to your skin.
Using a spatula, spread a portion of wax on the area of the body you want to depilate, in the direction of hair growth.
In the case of depilation with hard wax, wait until the wax cools and hardens, then remove it with a firm movement against the direction of hair growth. If you use soft wax, stick a strip on the wax and then tear it off with a firm movement against the direction of hair growth.
Repeat the above step until you have completely removed the hair from the epilated area.
Gently massage a small amount of Mylee After Care Lotion onto the epilated area to cool, soothe and moisturize the skin.
The wax/strip removal technique is one of the key elements in the waxing process.
It may be quite difficult to master at first, but over time you will get used to it and you will not have any problems with it.
BEFORE AND AFTER WAXING
Careful skin care before and after depilation is of great importance. It helps prevent common problems associated with waxing, such as ingrown hairs, redness and skin irritation.
Before waxing, if necessary, trim your hair. Then, a day or two before your waxing treatment, exfoliate the area of your body that you will be waxing. Just before you start epilating, wash and dry your skin thoroughly.
After depilation, wash off any remaining wax from your skin and use Mylee After Care Lotion. The balm will soothe the skin, prevent redness, rashes and ingrown hairs.
The day after waxing, you can exfoliate the treated skin again.
WE DELIVER 5 MYTHS ABOUT WAXING!
There are many myths surrounding waxing and hair removal in general. Waxing is a safe, effective method of removing hair and thus getting rid of it for many weeks.
If you still have doubts about waxing, here we discuss some popular myths.
1) Waxing causes wrinkles
One of the popular myths about waxing is that wax stretches the skin, thus reducing its elasticity and thus contributing to the formation of wrinkles.
Technically correct waxing treatment does not require special stretching of the skin. It should not have any effect on the formation of wrinkles.
2) Waxing always hurts
There's no denying that waxing can be painful, especially at first. However, after a few treatments it will no longer be so unpleasant.
Your pain threshold, but also the technique, influences your experience of waxing. The best way to enjoy painless hair removal is... to depilate regularly, preferably every four weeks.
3) You should not use depilatory wax when you are pregnant
There is no reason to believe that waxing during pregnancy could harm you or your baby.
The only difference you may notice is that the hormones released during pregnancy may make you more sensitive to pain, making waxing more unpleasant for you.
4) Waxing makes hair grow back stronger
In fact, it's exactly the opposite. The more often you wax, the thinner and weaker your hair will grow back. This happens because of the effect waxing has on the hair follicles.
Ingrown hairs are a problem that only affects people with curly hair
The problem of ingrown hairs affects people with all hair types. Ingrown hairs can be prevented by gently exfoliating 24 hours before and then 24 hours after waxing.
If you are concerned about an ingrown hair that is painful or has a cyst-like lump, be sure to consult your doctor.
Which wax is best for home use?
Any type of wax can be successfully used at home, and the selection of the appropriate product depends mainly on the area on which it is to be applied. Generally, soft wax is better for depilating large areas of the body, such as the legs, while hard wax is great for removing hair from delicate, small areas of the body, such as the upper lip (so-called mustache) and the bikini area.
What wax is best to start with?
Any type of wax can be successfully used by beginners. If you want the wax to be easily applied and removed from the skin, choose hard wax.
Since hard wax does not require the use of strips, it can be much easier to apply and remove from the skin. However, we recommend selecting the wax for the area of the body to be depilated.
Can Brazilian hair removal be performed at home?
Of course! Using appropriate products, tools and proper preparation, it is possible to perform Brazilian hair removal at home.
For Brazilian hair removal, we especially recommend Mylee Advanced Stripless Wax. It is extremely flexible, which makes it ideal for depilating the bikini area and thicker, rough hair in general.
The biggest challenge of Brazilian hair removal at home will be reaching all the areas you want to remove hair from.
You will have to change your position to see all the areas you want to epilate. A free-standing mirror can help with this.
Does waxing limit hair growth?
Waxing does not necessarily change the thickness, color or growth rate of your hair, but if done regularly, it can reduce the volume of your hair.
Is it better to shave your hair or wax it?
Shaving versus waxing is a topic of endless debate. Waxing gives much longer-lasting results than shaving your hair, but it is also more painful. So you have to decide what is more important to you.
Waxing also produces a smoother finish because the hair is pulled from the hair follicle, unlike shaving which removes the hair above the follicle. The most important thing is that you choose the option that suits you better.
